Privacy

Your information, plainly.

Who we are

The Tibet Reserve is operated by The Tibet Reserve LLC, a limited liability company registered in California, USA. Questions about this notice, or requests about your information, go to inquiries@thetibetreserve.com.

What we collect, and why

When you write to us, we receive what you choose to send: usually your name, email address, travel dates, the size of your party and anything else you tell us. We use it to answer you and to write and deliver your journey — nothing else.

If you travel with us, a Tibet Travel Permit requires a copy of your passport and Chinese visa or entry documents. We use them only to apply for the permits your route needs, and share them only with the authorities that issue those permits and the local service providers who must see them to deliver your journey, such as hotels and the local agency that applies for the permit.

Health information you choose to share — altitude history, conditions, dietary needs — is used only to plan and run your journey safely.

Analytics

With your permission only, this site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Nothing from Google loads until you press “Allow”, and we do not use advertising features. You can change your mind at any time with “Analytics preferences” at the foot of every page, which clears your choice and Google’s cookies and asks again.

What we never do

We do not sell or rent your information, add you to mailing lists you did not ask for, or share your details with anyone for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiry correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for answering you and for any journey that follows. Copies of passports and visas are deleted once your journey is complete and any permit, insurance or accounting questions are settled.

Your choices

You may ask us at any time what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it — write to inquiries@thetibetreserve.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California, you also have the rights your local law gives you, including the right to complain to your data-protection authority.
